It is difficult to describe the special appeal of the Black Bull Inn. For many it is the bar itself where a feature is well stocked shelves plus a minimum of two real ales available, and all to be enjoyed in convivial company to include perhaps a game of pool, dominoes or darts. Others tells us that their high spot is our menu where we use locally sourced fresh produce including meats in the preparation of menus that are pleasing on the eye, delicious and certainly not budget breakers!

Then again our bed and breakfast guests remark not just on the substantial breakfast on offer but the comfort of their bedrooms all of which are centrally heated with colour television and beverage making facilities.  Popular with those visiting the nearby Croft Circuit, the home of motor sports in the North East, the traveller en-route to and from the north and Scotland is also delighted to find these facilities at the Black Bull Inn. Travellers in a hurry are surprised to learn that we offer a hot food take away service, including fish and chips, throughout the day.

Locally, our regular customers and friends enjoy not just the bar and food but also social activities such as karaoke, pool, dominoes and darts and we boast enthusiastic and talented teams in the cases of the latter two. Outside during the warm weather our attractive beer garden is popular and the summer months are extended via the use of external heating panels.
